Eva and Fabián are twin siblings about to reach
adulthood. One summer night, they become involved in a tragic accident.
However, their lives and specific circumstances are opaque, and only the two
siblings and Mabel, their mother, seem to know them.
Nine-time
Goya nominee and winner of Best New Director Fernando Franco delves into the
psychological thriller genre, adapting Marcelo Luján’s eponymous novel. With a
neo-noir tone, the film explores the hidden issues within a family marked by a
tragic event. Starring two rising talents, Julia Martínez and Diego Garisa, the
cast also features established talents such as two-time Goya nominee Nacho
Sánchez and Sonia Almarcha, also a Goya nominee and winner of the Silver
Biznaga in Málaga.
"For me, it has been a very special soundtrack since the soundtrack plays a very prominent and significant role in the narrative; it is practically another character in the film. The accordion is the main instrument, and the goal was to emulate the pulse and breathing of the lead actress. The rest of the textures are lined with strings, synthesizers, and voices"

"This is the first film in which I use
non-diegetic music and besides this, the soundtrack plays a very
significant role in the movie . The idea is that, rather than simply providing
background noise, the music should be integrated as another mechanism for
building suspense and atmosphere, and serve as a key lever in defining the
characters. From the outset, Maite was able to identify the key musical
elements needed to drive the film forward."
