Each piece is a window into a specific moment in my life, from the fond memories evoked by a melody I've held dear since childhood, to the raw vulnerability of a composition born from a difficult period. The use of classical instruments such as strings, piano and accordion is intertwined with modern elements like synths, pads and electric guitar to create a unique and dynamic soundscape.   Tencent and its majority-owned subsidiary, Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), are facing a potential battering in China as part of an antitrust clampdown by the nation’s regulators. Tencent was investigated a couple of years ago by anti-competitive watchdogs in China for striking exclusive licensing agreements with the three major record companies in the territory. Tencent Music’s previous deals with Universal Music, Sony Music and Warner Music, enabled TME – the owner of China’s largest music streaming services – to license the majors’ music for its own platforms, but also to exclusively sub-license these catalogs to local rivals. However, the anti-competition investigation into Tencent was paused after the firm agreed to strike differently-structured music deals. Last week India-based Gaana claimed to be the country’s first music streaming service to hit 100 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs). Gaana’s Chief Executive Officer Prashan Agarwal then added that the platform expects to reach 200m MAUs in the next two years. Although Gaana’s latest milestone is impressive, it’s not alone: another hugely popular service in India, JioSaavn, has also surpassed the 100m mark, can reveal. According to sources close to the company, JioSaavn currently has  104m  MAUs as of today (April 29). Those same sources claim this figure is enough for the platform to stake its own claim as ‘India’s largest music streaming service’. For comparison’s sake, Spotify, today (April 29) that it ended Q1 2019 with 217m MAUs globally, and over 2m users in India. Within those 217m MAUs, Spotify counts over 100m paying subscribers.
