STATEMENT DEAD LINE
By DIRECTOR
Having had at the
time of this shooting a tiny budget, the film was going to be a small B series unpretentious
but clearly assumed in this sense, and which would not spoil in any way the
pleasure I was going to have with this film to somewhere pay tribute to Georges
Romero's masterpiece "Dawn of the dead", a film that had deeply
marked me, and to revive the zombies
"walkers" who had completely gone out of fashion and who will find
their hours of glory only a few years later with the arrival of the Walking
dead series. In short, Dead Line is a big nod to those zombie movies of the 80s
that had made the happiness of video clubs.
By COMPOSER
Dead Line was the
way there too but this time concerning the music to bring out major influences
for me, those of two soundtracks that still remain well anchored in my musical
culture and that have also influenced me in other areas than film music. First
of all, the one composed by Goblin for the "Zombie" ("Dawn of
the dead") by Georges Roméro and the one composed by John Carpenter for
"New York 1997". These two Soundtracks are for me two masterclasses
in the genre, and it is therefore natural that we find these two influences,
all proportions kept of course, in the soundtrack of Dead Line.
