"It was a pleasure getting to work with Ray on this documentary. After watching the doc for the 1st time, Ray mentioned that he wanted orchestral music. Once I knew that the documentary had to do with students and a competition, I brought up the idea about incorporating marching band influences into the score. The idea of students and competition, made me thing of marching band music, similar to students who compete during sports. I decided to create a brief demo. Once Ray heard it, he liked the idea and we decided to incorporate it into the score."
