In the twilight of his life, several men who shared a
terrible experience decide to meet again. Life has taken them to different
places, cities and points of view. All have evolved but have different
opinions. It has been almost half a century since they made a decision that
would mark their lives forever. They appreciate each other, respect each other,
know each other too well, but the environment in which they lived has never
been favorable. Now they get together to talk about their mistakes and
successes, how they went from being heroes to being traitors, how they were
plagued by those who previously praised them. At least they have the
consolation of thinking that they have defeated the monster they created. They
have spent many years, but they do not always find words to repair the mistake
they made: they belong to the origin of ETA. Now is the time.

Composer José Sánchez-Sanz
Born in Madrid, Spain, José Sánchez-Sanz is a music composer that has worked in
different fields where the music plays an important role. Specialized in music

My statement about the music of the film:
The music of Traidores is a quest that tries to reflect
the depth of the journey that its director Jon Viar proposes to us to the
hidden details of a family, to which the dramatic shadow of terrorism comes
over them. A journey with Iñaki Viar, who becomes a solo voice that my music
accompanies. He sings about the loneliness of a man before his past who tries
to be accountable with his present, embodied in the figure of his son Jon. It
has been a pleasure for me to accompany them both in this act of atonement,
which does not leave any viewer of the film at ease.
The statement of the director Jon Viar about the music:
There is in the work of José Sánchez-Sanz a heightened,
intense and serious sensitivity, but not only that. There is in his music a
compromise with his own intuition. That intuition that accompanies him- I
suppose that always - does not prevent it from being versatile, quite the
opposite. I abused my friendship with him to ask him for a favor that has
been a gift. When I asked him to do the music for Traidores, he didn't
hesitate. His work is one of the successes of the film because he always
accompanies and imbues us in a dark, strange and tragic atmosphere. The
melody that José has given us is virtuous but austere, like the Basque
character. His intuition has made him dive fearlessly into the pain of
those "armored stone Basques" that the poet Miguel Hernández used to
say, contributing decisively to accentuate the emotional substrate of the film.
