For the much anticipated release of "Lobster Cop"!

Wanda Entertainments "Lobster Cop", released in China, the United States and Canada on June 22 nd.  Ranking number "1" among Chinese films and only second to Disney's "Incredibles II" on it's opening weekend.  Roc Chen Music was excited to be a big part of the producing teams vision for this hilarious crime comedy!
Roc Chen was thrilled to be asked to be apart of this comedic crime project.  Directed by Xinyun Li and starring Qianyuan Wang, Yunpeng Zhou and Shanshan Yuan. This fun Comedy is set around four police officers opening a lobster restaurant as a cover in order to catch a notorious drug dealer, only to find their secret recipe is more popular then they expect.  When they get caught up in their new business venture, they find a bigger conspiracy at work.

Roc speaks candid
I was really inspired in my early meetings with the producing team of this dark comedy. Then it all started to come to life when I sat down and discussed the sound and feel of what Director Xinyun wanted for this project. As she laid out her vision and style for shooting the film it became so apparent to me what I needed to write. Has I sat and composed the score for this project it brought me back to earlier comedic films like "A Fish Called Wanda", "The Pink Panther" and  "Midnight Run". The music is such an important piece for any film, but especially in this genre to bring your audience in. It was a really fun project for me, something very different. I really enjoyed being a part of the collaboration and now it's success!

Combined with his fresh perspectives and the state-of-the-art visuals, I was able to draw forth my best creative juices to enhance the cinematic experience.
