In a small town a solitary
woman is haunted by voices that lead her to assassinate ill intended people and
get away with it, until her last kill sucks her down a rabbit hole riddled with
corruption, trafficking and visions from the beyond.
Working on Saint
Clare brought about the unique opportunity to write a vocal score that brought
an almost superhero vibe to the main character. There is a raw, feral
quality to the score, often made of several layers of female vocal performances
tempered with a religious undertone throughout. We recorded a modest
string orchestra with soloists to anchor the score's more tender moments.
As is so often common with films these days, a creative shift in the picture's
editing was desired that necessitated a re-scoring with another composer for
most of the film. I'm grateful to Plaza Mayor for releasing this album
which contains a handful of music that remained in the film as well as many
selections that did not.
