Rosario's husband and brother have lost their jobs after
being unfairly fired. To pay off their debts, they decide to kidnap their
boss's corpse and demand a ransom. But Inés, the wealthy wife of the deceased,
and her children have other plans. Despite coming from completely different
worlds, both families will be forced to exchange far more than just a body. Because…
who said happiness comes for free? And what price are we willing to pay for it?
CLAUDIA PINTO (Directora)
"Morir no
siempre sale bien" is a black comedy with underlying social critique that
moves between two seemingly extreme worlds: a working-class family and a
wealthy family, who find themselves forced to work together in order to flee
from the police. The music supports the gymkhana the characters are plunged
into, maintaining the difficult balance between thriller and comedy. At the
same time, it moves nimbly between the intimate and the ironic. Sometimes it
ironizes about reality and takes on the role of the narrator who, like a
voyeur, enjoys what is happening, and other times it looks at the story from
the intimacy of the characters, empathizing with them. The result is a powerful
soundtrack, one that has been key to giving the story that brazen, rowdy and,
at the same time, profound tone — one that makes you laugh while it freezes the
smile on your face.
VANESSA GARDE (Compositora)
"Morir no
siempre sale bien" has been a musical challenge, one more within the
collaboration with Claudia Pinto, with whom she trusts in always seeking a
musical narrative with personality, one that accompanies the story and that
shows and plays with the gaze (and the ear) of the viewer, so as not to grow
comfortable, nor miss a single detail.
It is a black
comedy, with intimate touches in some peculiar family relationships, in a
Mediterranean setting, in a suffocating summer, where the characters reach
unsuspected limits in order to "fight" for their dignity, with the
mothers of two families as pivotal points, without losing their way and trying
to keep their families together, amid the curious situations.
Musically, we
have a peculiar palette, with orchestra, accordion, double bass, some more
Mediterranean guitars/plucks, even passing through a lyric soprano… The varied
situations lead us to unexpected palettes and intertwined stories that trace
the musical map. We will not forget the heart of the story, at times touching
its most intimate side to remind us that, in the end, every act arises from the
most intimate love for family. Enjoy
the soundtrack and the film!
