check out the track list. Also liste to the composers first track after the
jump.
The Night is written and directed by Paul Urkijo Alijo and
stars Yune Nogueiras, Elena Irureta, Ane Gabarain and Inake Irastorza. The
movie is set in the 17th century Basque mountains and follows a
young woman who flees her farmhouse to escape her husband, when she encounters
three women as they share frightening village gossip and supernatural tales.
“The incredible music of
Aranzazu Calleja and Maite Arroitajauregi for GAUA is a great musical
composition that swings between two worlds: On one hand, dark, strange, and
atmospheric creations with a nocturnal dimension, full of sounds and period
instruments with rich textures, crowned with chants and mantras of dizzying
enchantment that immerse us in the inhospitable world of night and Basque
witchcraft. And on the other hand, bright and beautiful musical compositions
that outline the emotional arc of the main character of Kattalin: from the most
tragic moments to those that elevate us to the most sublime romanticism of the
film.”
