Amel is a colorful
character. She has temperament, ambition for her two daughters, a high
self-esteem and forms a passionate and explosive couple with Amor. Despite the
financial difficulties, she intends not to leave the wealthy neighborhoods. But
the family is soon threatened with losing their apartment while Mouna, the
eldest of the two daughters, begins to have strange visions of Charles Martel
after learning that he had stopped the Arabs in Poitiers in 732... Amel no
longer has a choice: she will have to reinvent herself!
Daniel Levy and Norman Plaza are the music for Manele Labidi's comedy, which tells the new life of Amel (Camélia Jordana), a colourful character in a passionate relationship with Amor (Sofiane Zermani), who locks himself into a fantasy world when financial difficulties force him to leave the wealthy districts. The hybrid score relates a whimsical aspect with exotic sounds, based on tribal percussions, electric guitar, didjeridoo, between psychedelic rock and new age.
