A group of friends hit the road to spend the weekend in the village of Ruiflec. When they arrived, some of them mysteriously disappeared. The others, while trying to find their tracks, will do everything they can to stay alive and escape the grip of the Village of Shadows.

The Village of Shadows, or Les Village des Ombres, music is by Stepane Le Gouvello, the composer has created a score that is unsettling and chilling, the work is scattered with choral and vocal work that alongside the symphonic styles employed adds so much to the already sinister and unnerving musical persona. The use of a hushed half heard female voice is enough to make one take a look around the room to see who or what is whispering. This is an enticing and haunting score, that also contains beautiful thematic material, the composer utilising a solo piano to fashion an alluring and romantic sounding core theme, but it is also a theme that has to it a malevolent air, at times drawing the listener into a false sense of security, before it descends into something that is far more threatening and foreboding.

Combined with his fresh perspectives and the state-of-the-art visuals, I was able to draw forth my best creative juices to enhance the cinematic experience. The beginning of my composing thought sequences always began with how the team of 8 special forces members worked together, putting their own egos aside to accomplish the same goal. While both action and plot were stunning, this film was more about the being intrinsically human and the fulfilment of one's calling to me.
