TIKTOK RADIO IS COMING TO SIRIUSXM AS COMPANIES JOIN FORCES TO CREATE ‘EXCLUSIVE AUDIO EXPERIENCES’


 TikTok is launching TikTok Radio, a full-time SiriusXM music channel going live this summer.

The station will be available in vehicles and as a streaming channel on the SiriusXM App, desktop, and all connected devices.

TikTok Radio will be presented by TikTok creators, tastemakers, and DJs, including influencers like Bella Poarch, Christian Shelton and Nick Tangorra.

The station will be part of a new TikTok collaboration with SiriusXM and its subsidiary, Pandora, to jointly promote emerging talent.


TikTok Radio is pitched as a radio version of TikTok’s For You page – a discovery tool for trending videos.

The platform will also feature a weekly music countdown dedicated to TikTok’s trending tracks.

In addition, Pandora is launching a TikTok Tastemakers series – a selection of exclusively hosted playlists featuring TikTok creators who will take listeners through their favorite songs with additional commentary.

The TikTok Tastemakers series will allow TikTok influencers to curate and promote playlists to their fans on TikTok, and kicks off with a show from Bella Poarch.

Future TikTok Tastemakers instalments will feature creators including Christian Shelton and Nick Tangorra.

Pandora listeners can also tune into the TikTok Hits Playlist featuring recent songs featured and trending on TikTok.

Christian Shelton, TikTok creator whose playlist will be one of the first in Pandora’s TikTok Tastemakers series, said: “When I started posting on TikTok in the beginning of the pandemic, I had no idea that, less than a year after starting my TikTok, I’d sing in a Super Bowl commercial.

“Making videos for TikTok is always the highlight of my day, and I’m lucky to have found such a supportive musical community.

“The playlist I created reflects my love for all genres and features new and old music, a lot of which is inspired by my fans on TikTok! I want people who listen to my Pandora playlist to get to know me a bit more through the music I love.”

According to TikTok’s own analytics, as of October 2020 the TikTok app was reaching 732 million monthly active users (MAUs) around the world, and more than 100 million MAUs in the United States.

That’s more than double Spotify‘s global monthly active user base as of the end of 2020 (345 million)
